Guitarist Ndala Kasheba first came to Tanzania in 1968 with Fauvette, a band he created in Congo since 1964. He was active in the Dar es Salaam music scene since then. In the 70's he led the famous "Orchestra Safari Sound". He then created his own group "Zaita Musica" and toured in Europe. Ndala Kasheba departed the world in 2004, and will be surely missed, especially by those whose ears hear his distinctive twelve string guitar sounds. Finally, his family managed to collect overdue royalties from Tshala Muana, for covering and remixing many of his famous songs without paying.
